Let’s talk about EMDR!

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

is a therapy designed to help people heal from symptoms and emotional distress caused by troubling experiences. Research shows that EMDR therapy can achieve meaningful healing in less time than traditional therapies.

EMDR works by helping the brain process unresolved trauma similarly to how the body heals a physical wound. Just as a physical cut heals once any irritation is removed, EMDR helps clear mental blocks, allowing natural recovery from emotional wounds to resume.

How is EMDR therapy different from other therapies?

Unlike some therapies, EMDR doesn’t require clients to talk extensively about their trauma or complete homework outside sessions. Instead, it uses structured techniques to help the brain activate its own healing processes, often resolving traumatic memories in fewer sessions than other forms of psychotherapy.

Who can benefit from EMDR therapy?

EMDR therapy helps children and adults of all ages. Therapists use EMDR therapy to address
a wide range of challenges:
